Our Journey Toward Sustainable Furniture
Sustainability isn't a marketing buzzword for us — it's the foundation of everything we do. Here's an honest look at where we are and where we're headed.
Our Starting Point
When Nordic Home Furnishings was founded in 2010, sustainability meant using real wood instead of particleboard. That was our baseline, but we knew we could do much more.
What We've Achieved
Today, 100% of our wood is FSC-certified. Our packaging is made from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. We've reduced our carbon emissions by 40% since 2018 through local sourcing and optimized shipping routes.
The Challenges Ahead
We're not perfect. Our cushions still contain synthetic foam, and some of our metal components are sourced from outside the Nordic region. We're actively researching bio-based foam alternatives and working to shorten our supply chain further.
Our Pledge
By 2028, we commit to using 100% renewable or recycled materials across our entire product line. We'll publish annual progress reports so you can hold us accountable. Because the most sustainable furniture is furniture you never need to replace.
